What is eCommerce?
eCommerce is conducting business over the Internet. For a
traditional brick and mortar organization, this can mean putting a
catalog of their products, onto a website, so that customers can
browse and purchase what interests them. This is done through a
shopping cart application.
What is SSL?
SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer. It uses a Public Key to
encrypt data transmitted between the client (browser) and the
server. eCommerce sites must have SSL to ensure that the credit
card information that their customers are providing them is not
transmitted in clear text (visible to any unscrupulous

What is a Merchant Account?
A Merchant Account gives you, the Merchant, the ability to accept
Credit Cards. Many brick and mortar organizations already have
Merchant Accounts and need not apply for another one for use on
the Internet.

of ability to process credit cards. You can do this through a card
terminal, such as the one you see in many retail outlets that you

this functionality easily and cost effective for our customers
through a product called Miva Merchant.

Miva Merchant is a dynamic browser based storefront development
and management system that allows merchants to create multiple
online stores from anywhere in the world where there is internet
access.
Miva Merchant has a complete set of wizards to simplify the
process of building your store. The browser based administration
